  • Well, a few things have changed since the last time I wrote on here.....

I went up to the Phillips' in Georgia towards the end of June through the beginning of July, for Jess's grad party. That was a lot of fun and good to see Jess, Sarah, and Chuck.
Then, Jess calls me one day to just talk and she mentions that her and Chuck were going to visit Cassie-Marie when she got back from Latvia. Of course, this makes me really sad since I couldn't go.....then I get a call from Chuck a few days later, and I'm on my way to Georgia to go with them to see CM!  We all met up, along with Joseph, Paul, and Hazel, and we went to a lake (which was gorgeous and so fun), it was a lot of fun and SO good to see Cassie-Marie.
Then, the Phillips and I talked and decided that I should stay here in Georgia while I look for a job (there's more here than in Florida). So I've pretty muched moved in with the Phillips and am now living here.
    Chuck and I are dating.

So about the only thing that hasn't changed is that I don't have a job....   But God is faithful still. He is good. Very good indeed.

I've been asked to update, so here I am... my life has been really boring lately, so there isn't much to say...

Being back home has proved to be much more of a challenge than I thought it was going to be, and that's saying something. I've been praying pretty much constantly for my patience to grow each day. Being at home is a blessing for numerous reasons...I need to learn to appreciate these blessings.
I've been trying to stay somewhat busy so that I don't go completely nuts. I've cooked and baked a LOT, run errands throughout the day, hung out with sis quite a bit, jogging with the dog, trying to read for pleasure (hasn't happened in a while), went to the park with little brother watched a LOT of movies and some t.v. (a ton compared to when at school), and even went swimming in the nasty lake water that is supposed to be our pool. And probably even more than all of that put together, doing the good ol' job search.
Mom found that I am amoung the 1400 grads looking for a job in FL in this economy. I just really want a job that actually uses my degree with an organization/company that's about something bigger than themselves, ya know?

My sister turned 17 on June 19th...whew. Unbelieveable but we're both glad for some of the same reasons. We both have someone who can relate to each other, to vent our frustrations to, to laugh with (b/c the rest of our family just doesn't think the same things are funny as we do), and just talk with.
5 days before that, I turned 22...eek. It sounds so old. My brother (for about the fifteenth time) asserted that I should be married by now and be pregnant, or at the very least, have a boyfriend.

I've been trying to hang out with people here...people that are good to be around, that is. So there's been a few Bible studies/hang out times, go to the beach times, go to coffee shop times,... it's good but really different. And hard b/c they all actually have jobs, so they can't hang out until the evening, where they don't stay up past 11 b/c they're tired and they get up at 6....and I get up whenever and job search, make food, and try to not scream all day.
I need to get connected to a church here too, like get really connected...that's my goal by the end of the summer.

In 4 (3, technically) days, I leave for Georgia, to go to Jess's grad party and Allison's wedding!! So excited about this, though I feel really selfish...I'm not looking at this so much as a time of celebration for them, but I get to see them time.... = /

So there's the jist... I miss my girls. so much. Much more than they know, that's for sure.

Whelp. I am a college grad.

But before I get to that, it's been a while so I'm going to attempt at catching up on everything major that has been happening before the big day.

*Last few weeks of school was pretty intense. They were things that were accumulating from all four years at Bryan, so it was not easy and I was pretty emotional. So for the 5 or so papers I had to write, I cried...

*Week before graduation, we (Kirsten, Jess, CMarie, Sarah, Courtney, Ashley B., and I) went on our own little Senior Trip, which was really great. Definitely was an adventure, but I couldn't have picked better people to go on an adventure with
We seems like we did a bunch of stuff, but when I really think about it, we just relaxed together, got frustrated with each other, and laughed really hard together a lot. And cried for a few minutes one night :)
We camped in a tent on Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was interesting trying to put up the tent in extremely windy conditions, but with the help of Cassie's friend, Paul, it worked out well. (We basically stood there, holding poles, while he figured out how it went up, telling us what to do) haha :)
What made the wind even more irritating was Sarah and I trying to cook our meals...a few times, scrambled eggs and meat went flying, but we got through the week with some really good food, if I do say so myself
We all got sunburnt in some way (Kirsten, got like 2 inches on her arm, and the rest of her was tan), but it wasn't too bad at all. Nothing some aloe lotion couldn't help
A thunderstorm went through one night. Ash and I tried to rough it out, and it wasn't that bad, but then the lightning was getting closer, so we decided to join the others in the cars.
The next day, it was forcasted to rain again, so everyone except me and Ash had an adventure with trying to find shopping malls. While that was happening, Ash and I were cleaning up the site, chasing after flying shirts, skirts, and such, and watched the tent finally give way to the winds, melting right before our eyes. We decided to just take the tent down, moved down a few spots where the wind wasn't nearly as bad, and we spent the next 2 days there.
Ash and I sat in the back of her car when the rain started coming down. We soon see a man peeping at us through the open window, saying to us, "Sorry to disturb you ladies, but this came flying off of your site...*hands us a sleeping bag cover, while suspiciously looking at Ashley's Smirnoff*...so you might want to get the rest of your things..." lol.
The week was definitely full of a lot of laughter, fake yelling at each other, soaking up the sun, reading our books next to the ocean/pool, and alcohol. Except Kirsten. She was the only good Christian.

Then came Vespers, where Mr. Palmer made me tear up while he cried on stage, and our class ripped the BC ribbon after being told that the ribbon symbolized the Christian family of God, where it is not complete if it is broken, and a girl falling on stage. Only our class would make that kind of mood when it's supposed to be all serious.
And then Graduation Day. Started out badly because having it on the Triangle was cancelled due to rain, so it was in Rudd. It was nicer than I think we expected it, and I think most of us were really sad because the mood was pretty somber.
Then the fam and I went to the cabin, where my uncle, cousin, grandma, paw paw, and his girlfriend were for a couple of days. Monday morning we started the drive home, that took us a total of 16 hours.

So now I've switched rooms with my brother (because it's in the back of the house, it actually has a door...). So that's been a little strange, and tiring (since he is a boy and he has a hamster, it was pretty gross).
Now, I'm job searching, trying to help Mom with the house (she sprained her ankle) and helping her with planning the Softball Banquet that's in less than 2 weeks.

  • Graduation

Yep. I graduated this Saturday, May 9th.

Hasn't sunk in at all...just feel like I'm on a break at home right now.
The worst part was that I didn't get to say good-bye to anyone.

Saturday afternoon we left for the cabin. 4 hours later, we're there and the whole fam was there eating together and being loud (it's what we do best)

We got home from the cabin around 2 this morning after a 16 hour drive.

It'll probably really hit me when I start hysterically crying uncontrollably

  • Since I've been remembering the past lately...

This is what I wrote a little over 3 years ago:

"Holy smokes, guys! this is absolute craziness! Friday, I was officially done with my classes of my freshman year of college! can you belive it!? i can't....it has flown by so quickly. wow. Tonight the ladies of Long 4th had the 2nd annual "Paper Plate Awards" in the lounge complete with food and lots of laughter"...

...and then I proceeded to describe each award that was given to whom....*sigh*

I was SO dramatic. haha oh how things have changed...
